Technical Training Series

Emerging Contaminants Seminar - September 26, 2017 in Long Island, NY

Program Description

Emerging contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-dioxane and perchlorate are being widely discussed in the media as well as the environmental community.   Many states have been taking the lead in drafting policies and regulations, and as such there are differing requirements in terms of analytical methodology, target compound lists, regulatory standards, detection limits, etc.  This presentation will focus on the history of emerging contaminants, overviews of the evolving regulatory and scientific landscape, potential sources, legal ramifications, results of a recent NY State pilot study and the analytical method options that are available to address them.

Alpha Analytical has assembled a team of experts from regulatory, consulting, legal and testing industries for this half-day session which will address and educate current and future practitioners on the PA Brownfields program, regulations, methodologies, funding, best practices, laboratory requirements and legal ramifications associated with vapor intrusion.
